good for what ails you + hiking franklin canyon park

life is crazy. life is hard. life is awesome. life is a lot of things and sometimes it's just TOO much all at once. the simplest decision can feel impossible to make, like when you're hungry but nothing sounds good. that is the absolute yuckiest.

when things start to feel this way is when i say, ok, enough. it's time to TAKE A HIKE. time to clear the air. unclutter the mind. a good walk in nature is good for what ails you. even if you don't know what's ailing you. welcome to existence.

now despite the myth and that incredibly catchy song, "walking in LA" about how nobody walks in LA or whatever, well, there are plenty of great places to walk and hike here. and who even started that rumor? totally not true. or have things just changed that much since the 80s because i seriously saw a guy walk across the freeway the other day on my way home from work. ok he was probably crazy. but still.

so a few saturdays ago (eek... yea i am BEHIND... playing catch up here!) josh and i tried to decide what we would do that day. and it went like this: me: so... what do you want to do? josh: i dunno... what do you wanna do? me: i dunno... what do you... ugh, yea f'it. let's go for a hike. we had been wanting to go back to franklin canyon anyway since ducks and turtles live there and feeding ducks and turtles is high on everyone's fun list.

now PHOTOS!

welcome to franking canyon! pretty gorg, right? nestled in the mountains just above beverly hills, this park is a refreshing retreat from the hustle and bustle that happens barely a mile away.

words really cannot describe the boys' love for this place. but knox's face right here sure can:-)

checking out the tiny fish amongst the koi and turtles.

a bale of turtles!

breezy...

more turtles! they were literally everywhere.

totally NOT feeding the turtles stale bread.

totally just pretending...

ok one piece may have fell to the ground....

i think the photos pretty much speak for themselves here. i cannot do it more justice. i will say it was just what we needed, and afterward i could finally decide on what to eat.

have a great rest of your week guys!

xoxo,

sony
