first parade!
i honestly cannot believe we almost let this one pass us by. and furthermore, what kind of amercians are we? our first family parade only now? yea sorry about that 'merica. i didn't even know the event was happening until i was alerted to the street closures by a friend. thank you friend! as soon as i saw that the few streets in chinatown would be shut down so that a ridiculous amount of colored paper and dragons could march and flutter their way down the famous corridor i knew what we would be doing that day. the golden dragon parade was the perfect first parade for the boys. because dragons. really. the kids' interest in dragons is pretty major. that and buzz light year. now that would have been something.
i highly recommend watching the parade with starbucks! they are always longer than you think and standing around waiting gets i don't know... lame? iced coffee really helps!
yes! this is why we came!
i love knox's enthusiasm whilst keeping a steady flow of popcorn to mouth.
max liked it too! i had to carry him like this most of the time. it was hard to see. petite people problems!
chicas.
first firecracker!
and thousands of pieces of colored paper.
ok maybe millions.
billions?
quite possibly zillions.
once the parade was over we could not wait to get into the middle of the road.
and in case you didn't already know. parades are messy.
we finally got them away from the paper and danced in the plaza...
and blended in really well with the surroundings. i just had a hunch dressing them in red would be appropriate.
and that was our first parade! somehow we managed to do a bunch of other stuff on this memorable day as well. in case you missed i blogged about it here! and we're out sunshines!
