our happy place

if someone was to just ask me where i find my happy, i would tell them my happy place is on my yoga mat every thursday at 4pm. maria teaches the most exhilarating, fun and HOT sculpt class. then go ask max and knox they would say beach! or, hmmmm... legoland! (headed there in a few days!). also the target. but that is everyone's happy place amirght? josh probably would always rather be snowboarding a powdery mountain. or eating a bucket of popcorn in a dark movie theatre. i feel you joshua michael cheek.

collectively, we have found joshua tree to be our family happy place. the boys have inherited my enthusiasm and their father's natural ability to jump like a stealth bunny rabbit making the rocky terrain the ultimate playground for all of us. here we can defy gravity and soar. plus, it's just under a 3 hour drive when traffic isn't being extra stupid. and the sunsets? epic every time. what's not to love?

then she got fed up and told josh to dip me. it was a v awkward moment but i like the way it turned out!

we rented a completely off the grid house from airbnb and it was the coolest. it was also super windy and COLD so was very relieved to not be tent camping! sometimes you just have to treat yourself!

spotted so much wildlife from this spot! at one point we saw two animals we mistook for coyotes only to realize they were jack rabbits. jack rabbits are so big IRL!

and yes! climbing with kids is totally nuts! but they really impressed me!

there's an exit through the gift shop joke somewhere here but i just can't. too tired. (it's tuesday afternoon as i write this and idk... tuesday's are somehow worse than monday's if that is even possible.)
