36 hours in palm springs part 2: Desert X + the aerial tramway

pointless part 2 of our quick jaunt to palm springs as promised! i am a women of my word guys! still working on that fourth date of xmas story though. yeesh. but to be fair and honest, i mostly sat on this post for months (eek!) because i felt bad knowing the coolest part of our trip would be gone by the time it published...

i guess i'm doing it anyway!

see that house out there?

it was really windy getting to it.

extremely windy.

my hair and face were not happy it was SO WINDY.

did i mention it was windy?

ANYWAY, it was also one of coolest things i had ever seen. this thing, or mirror house as it has been dubbed is the work or doug aitken and part of the desert exhibition of art aptly named Desert X. the collaborative works featured emerging artists whose projects embraced global and local issues. but aitken's reflective encounter definitely garnered the most attention and IG check-ins for pretty obvious reasons. keep scrolling for more of this awesome structural exhibit... and some damn sexy wind hair.

dude look how crazy josh's left arm looks. also, a nice break from the wind.

yes i do believe my children kissed every mirror in the place.

the cheek's are all here! just missing our faces :-(

and just a few instagrammers.

so that was pretty awesome! the only way to top that would be to take a tram ride up a mountain. and good news! that appears to be staying for good. i remember going as a little kid! no old lady jokes please.

if only this john mcenroe sweatshirt came in my size!

once you get to the top there are lots of areas to explore. we mainly threw sticks in the water and refused to admit how cold we were. it's really cold up there! i think you can zoom in on that misery on my face in this photo lol.

despite the cold and knox's face here we had the coolest experience exploring this part of palm springs. and great news! Desert X is coming back in 2019! mark your calendars guys! and that makes this post not all that pointless anymore, eh? yeah.

PS! great wind hair josh!  you always look like a total movie star ⭐️

xoxo,

sony
