october

october is always kind of weird. for the first half it still feels like summer. and then BAM. it's fall. and later, just when you want to spend a hallows eve night roaming the streets dressed as your favorite superhero or alter ego, mother nature cramps your style and threatens us with chilly temps and rain.

and finally, it's over. BAM. without fail. every time. but i kind of like that about october. the month of change you can always count on. and each year we embrace it the same way...

in the month of october we always venture on an epic bike ride through the heart of la...

taking photos while riding a bike remains one of the mostly challenging feats known to myself. josh looks so cute here though so it was worth risking my son's life for right?

yummy food and playgrounds are kind of always on the agenda though.

around week two it's harvest festival time!

i always plan cute fall outfits for us to wear and  hope it will be below 70 so we can actually wear them and take awesome autumnal family photos amidst the gourds and hay. alas, it never happens. it was so hot that day we didn't even buy a pumpkin!

the next week we made another trip to a pumpkin patch, with the real motivation being eating at nearby loqui after. this time i got my pumpkin. and a pink one at that!

hay there.

LOQUI

COULD EAT HERE EVERY DAY... not just october!

and then it felt like fall.

we were pretty happy about it.

 because fall clothes!

shoes remain optional.

nothing screams october more than a ghost piΓ±ata.

:-)

and lastly, HALLOWEEN.

we dress up and let our kids knock on the doors of strangers and ask for candy we normally never let them eat.

we stay out late and skip baths. even if it falls on a tuesday. a school night! it's the best.

then you guessed it. BAM. it's over. until next year october, stay weird.

xoxo,

sony
