easter sunday
for the first time in cheek-champ history, we had legit easter plans. we got invited to an easter picnic + easter egg hunt. EASTER, EASTER, EASTER!
ok, maybe that doesn't sound like a big deal. but it was to us. josh + i don't have big families with lots of kids, nor many friends with kids of their own. and believe me, that is FINE. but that's also probably why we hustle all over the city every weekend trying to entertain ourselves. so when a friend graciously offers to have us over, feed us and provide a bunch of lawn games and a YARD to play in. we. are. all. over. it. now, neither josh or i are very religious, but we like to partake in most things fun and celebratory. like christmas. because presents. and especially if it means an excuse to break out the suspenders + bowties.
easter, we're talking about you.
lawd we can be so cliche sometimes and i absolutely love it.
the picnic was at our friend's place in hollywood, so we decided to bike there. because we love bikes! and driving around hollywood can be coo-coo pants. it had been a while since we went on a family bike ride and i was stoked to do everything that day without a car. we are also slowly getting away from using a stroller. at least that's my plan, not sure if i mentioned it to josh yet. and i know what you're thinking. WUT. no stroller? I KNOW. and dude sometimes it sucks and we're like what were we thinking. but a lot of times it just gets in the way. bikes make a great substitute whenever possible!
the picnic wasn't until 1pm, so we decided to check out the hollywood farmers' market on our way there. farmers' markets are on my list of things to do more of and the hollywood market is pretty great. it, of course, has lots of great produce, food trucks, people watching... and...
... wait for it.
balloons!
even mickey balloons! my only regret was not paying the guy to make two.
the other cool thing about a farmer's market in hollywood? stars are literally everywhere.
and more fleeting than stars... time. holding on to the last days of a two-year-old max as tight as i can.
suspenders and birkies really help soften the blow.
bike parking! and that's our friend's scout! what a beauty. GIMME!
and as promised, easter eggs! thank sarah + corey for making them so easy to find!
knox. being knox.
so the egg hunt was awesome, but the main draw for us and our little dapper dudes here was the badminton. we were terrible at it of course, but that made it more fun somehow. less serious i suppose.
spiffy.
actually, joshy was a bit of a natural. must have been the shoes.
#blessed
is that cliche at this point? i sure hope so!
and random fact. when josh and i first started dating we made up a band for ourselves. we never really played anything but pretty much nailed what our genre would be and our band name.
ready for it?
'the cliches'. no stealing!
and we're out. well, literally. one of us is. hope you had a fantastic holiday peeps!
xoxo, sonia
