a hateful date — hello sunshine

i love you astro burger. but this is not where our date was spent. that would have been just hateful. and a bad move on josh's part. though i should mention we did not come here at the end of the night for late night, try-to-forget-you-ate-it zucchini fries.

and full disclosure here. this post is not a movie review. sorry. it's about a girl and her pink jacket, aka THE JACKET. you see, i had been looking for this jacket (out of stock now, d'oh!) for an embarrassing amount of time. i think the want/need for it came on after my umpteenth time watching the royal tenenbaums. it was margot and her teddy bear coat. i just had to have one. but in pink. because in case you're new around here, i kind of have a thing for the color!

long story short, i finally found THE JACKET. and it was love at first sight. i remember greedily opening the box after max had gone to bed and parading around the apartment with it on over my jammies. i even took photos and text them to my friends (i will not be sharing those so don't ask, i am not a complete idiot). even more embarrassing is that TWO YEARS LATER I AM FINALLY WEARING IT. out in public! so you know that rule about cleaning out your closet? that one where if you haven't worn it in the last year then get rid of it? well i am calling BS on that one. i knew the day would come. and it did. that makes this date night worth posting! also because the movie we saw was the hateful eight and about three hours long. and it was awesome. almost as awesome as my pink jacket. ALMOST!

but first things first. to nana's house they go. oh nana, what would my social life be with out you? scary to think about! you'd be reading a lot more food recipes, guys!

josh makes a cameo with me + THE JACKET.

there was no way i was sitting through such a long film without a few cocktails and some pretty food first. had to show off THE JACKET, too. we walked to one of our favorite happy hour establishments in west hollywood, harlowe! this place was something super douchy before and the revamp is much more our speed. the vibe is very old hollywood/saloon? pretty tile, decor and a good amount of indoor plants. the food and drinks are on point too. and love that service with a smile.

OH YEA. PSA ladies! do you see that hook thing behind me? this place is so considerate! they must have predicted people like me with big-ass coats would come in, and provided hat/coat/whatever racks at each booth. i love that! i got to stare at THE JACKET during the whole meal. and my cute date of course!!
